This innovative micro-encapsulate enables the incorporation of long chain poly-unsaturated fatty acids (LC-PUFA) in infant formulae that are devoid of proteins and other milk-derived allergens and is applied in the Vana-Sana DHA 7 IF protein free.

The technology, launched in 2008, facilitates the addition of encapsulated long chain poly-unsaturated fatty acids (LC-PUFA) such as ARA and DHA in hypoallergenic infant formulae for the first time. Frost & Sullivan states: “ As an acknowledged leader in  spray drying and encapsulation technology, this innovation from FrieslandCampina Kievit has created a new milestone in the market.” Applying this new encapsulation technique, FrieslandCampina Kievit developed its revolutionary product; ‘Vana-Sana DHA 7 IF protein free’ for use in hypoallergenic infant formulae.
