As of 1 August 2012, FrieslandCampina Kievit will create a link between the product names of its ingredients based on palm oil and their sustainable palm status, RSPO Segregated (RSPO SG) or RSPO Mass Balance (RSPO MB). This immediately informs customers of the product’s sustainability level. FrieslandCampina Kievit will be the first company in the spray-dried ingredients market to adopt this initiative. Initially, the RSPO status will be displayed for the palm oil-based ingredients that are destined for markets in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and North and South America.
02-07-2012 Sweet creamer replaces more than 40 per cent sugarFrieslandCampina Kievit is launching a ‘sweet creamer’ concept for application in sweetened instant beverages such as 3-in-1 coffee, milk tea, cappuccino and cocoa drinks. The incorporation of sugar in the creamer as a substitute for glucose syrup is revolutionary. The sweet creamer can replace more than 40 per cent of the sugar in sweetened instant drinks. This not only yields a potential cost saving for customers of more than 30 cents per kg of end product. Because this creamer uses fewer raw materials and there are savings on packaging materials, transport, water and energy consumption, the CO2 footprint can also be reduced by 12 per cent.
